About Us

European Community Studies Association Taiwan (ECSA-Taiwan)

History

For the purpose of encouraging studies of the European Union and academic exchanges and cooperation globally, some leading Taiwanese scholars in the EU Studies were working together to establish a nationwide organization since the EU Centre in Taiwan had been formally inaugurated in May 2009. Since then, an assembly of scholars on EU Studies was held annually with sponsorship of the EU Centre in Taiwan, leading to the establishment of the Preparatory Committee for Creation of European Community Studies Association Taiwan (ECSA-Taiwan) on July 7th, 2014 in Taipei. Several months later, the ECSA Taiwan was formally created, whose inaugural assembly was held at National Taiwan University on January 19th, 2015. It has been formally registered at Ministry of Interior of the Republic of China (Taiwan) as an academic association (Registration No. 1040011293), and accepted as a formal member by the ECSA World and EUSA AP.

Aims

ECSA Taiwan is a non-profit academic association established under the law of the Republic of China (Taiwan). Its purpose is to improve and propagate studies of all subjects related to the European Union.
